TIPS Personnel is currently looking for awesome new candidates to join our restoration, demo and cleaning teams in and around Edmonton. Helping after floods, fires, wind damage, hail damage, etc. We are currently looking for certified asbestos technicians who are able to work in high-risk situations.

Workers will be setting up the job sites with poly and tearing down walls, doors, ceilings etc. and removing asbestos. Working both indoors and outdoors.

Job Description:

Workers will be helping with assessing damaged properties to see what can be saved, cleaning damaged properties, removing and replacing damaged materials, and sanitizing the restored homes.

• Assessing damaged properties to see what can be saved.
• Cleaning and storing damaged properties until they can be returned to the home.
• Removing and replacing damaged materials, such as wallboards, lumbar, and carpets.
• Handling any issues caused by water damage, including drying out the area and removing mold.
• Sanitizing structural features that can be saved.
• Must be able to pass a drug and alcohol test
• Must be over the age of 18 years
• Adhering to personal safety standards by wearing the appropriate protective gear and using the right equipment.

Requirements:

• Asbestos removal experience
• MUST have your own Full Mask (MUST be fit tested and have a valid fit test card) PAPR Filter
• Must be 18 years or older
• Must be physically fit, able to lift over 50 lbs. repetitively
• Ability to bend, squat, lift and perform repetitive motion
• Minimum 1 year experience in general labor, cleaning, demo, moving, etc.
• Clean criminal background - background checks will be conducted
• Clean and presentable appearance
• Must have steel toe safety boots
• Should have fit test card and respirator masks
• Can speak, read and write English

Assets:

• Has own vehicle or reliable transportation.
• Able to work some overtime if needed.
• Able to work well with others in a team environment.
• Able to work in environments with different unforeseen conditions (dust, smoke, Molds, mildew, heavy metal etc.)
• Able/experienced in operating motorized vehicles.
• Physically fit and able to work long hour of repetitive movement (lifting, stairs, climbing, standing, kneeling, etc.)
• Able to work respectfully in other people's homes handling their personal property.
• Has safety tickets: CSTS 2020, Fall Protection, AWP, Confined space, etc.

Wage - $18 to $20 an hour to start
