TIPS Personnel is currently looking for a Production Supervisor to join our food facility in Calgary, AB. The Production Supervisor oversees the daily operations at the plant, tackling issues as they arise, finding root causes, and keeping things running smoothly. They focus on safety, hitting key goals, managing resources effectively, and driving continuous improvements. This role also includes managing schedules and making sure production targets are on track.

Responsibilities:

  • Production Operations: Support production teams to meet operational goals, including cost reduction, productivity, safety, quality, and customer satisfaction. Ensure minimal rework and optimal yield.
  • Health & Safety Leadership: Act as a role model for safety, implement hazard controls, and ensure adherence to safety programs. Address unsafe behaviors and conditions while promoting a culture of incident prevention.
  • Team Leadership: Provide direction, feedback, and training to staff, fostering positive labor relations and compliance with company policies and legal regulations.
  • Quality and Compliance: Ensure adherence to GMP, SOPs, and product specifications. Oversee equipment sanitation and maintain production readiness.
  • Planning & Budgeting: Assist in developing and executing budgets, production plans, and training programs, monitoring results and supporting corrective actions as needed.

Requirements:

  • College diploma or University degree preferably in Food Science or Engineering
  • Minimum two (2) years experience in food production supervision
  • Experienced as a supervisor and/or providing leadership to production teams in dairy or related food or pharmaceutical industry. HACCP exposure preferred.
  • Certified and/or experienced in the supervisory responsibilities under WSIB/WCB, OSHA, and First Aid an asset

Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal, and verbal and written communications skills
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, planning, and decision making skills
  • Ability to diagnose and coordinate activities to resolve mechanical manufacturing issues in food manufacturing
  • Team facilitation/leadership skills and ability to develop employees and implement continuous improvement methodologies
  • Proficient with standard office computer technology such as Lotus Notes, Microsoft Office (Word & Excel), as well as business systems such as SAP

Monday to Friday

11am to 730pm

$23 an hour

This is a 4 month contract, with the possibility of extension.
