Full job description

TIPS Personnel is currently looking for structural welders to join our marine/shipbuilding teams in and around Vancouver, BC. Welders will be helping with the building, maintenance and repairs of ships and vessel, ranging in various sizes. Utilizing FCAW, SMAW, GTAW, and SAW processes, as well as automated GMAW/MCAW equipment to complete the welds.

We are looking for both red seal welders and/or welders with multiple years of welding experience in heavy manufacturing and/or pressure welding.

Requirements:

  • Ability to confidently and accurately read and interpret welding procedures, blueprints, and drawings
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces, working at heights, perform physical labour, and work in various weather conditions
  • Must be flexible and able to work all shifts
  • Ability to speak, read, understand and write in English
  • Safety conscious and works in a clean environment

All candidates are required to complete a weld test before being offered employment. Testing will be held either in the Shipyard or elsewhere; remote testing will be available in various provinces, such as interior BC, Alberta, and Saskatchewan.

Monday to Friday - various shifts available

Morning, afternoon and night shift - 8 hours per day

$40 to $53 an hour, based on experience and qualifications
